Padmapriya, who started her career as a model, has acted in Malayalam, Telugu, Tamil and Hindi. She started her acting career with Malayalam film Kaicha. She has starred in 18 Malayalam movies. She has acted with popular Malayalam actors like Mammootty, Mohanlal, Sureshgopi and Jayaram.

Padmapriya, famous for her intense roles in Tamil movies like Pookisham, Satham Podathey, Thavamai Thavamirundhu and Mirugam, says that she always prefers the significance of her role in the story.

Padmapriya said that she played versatile roles in both of the Malayalam films she has done in recent time. Answering a question she said that she does not want to stick to perform the roles that could fetch awards. The charming beauty is also preparing for her law exams due in November.
